It Is STILL Hot But Life Goes On

L needed a new photo for some work thing and I was thinking the brick wall would be a great background.  He later decided that a scenic picture of him at the Grand Canyon would be better.  Mine was a little too "convict" for him.  He only needed a headshot but Luke refused to get out of the picture so I took one of my gentlemen.

This is Luke's new request after his bath...to be wrapped in a towel and then he wants every single one of his big plastic animals put on top so that they can dry off too.  I drew the line the other night at putting a diaper on a Triceratops.

My little helper.  I asked him to take a new roll "potty paper" to Mommy's bathroom.  He took it there all right.  I blame this on myself really.

Decorating Daddy's birthday cake!

L's birthday weekend started out with a morning trip to the zoo!

Petting the stingrays (aka Ouchie Fish).

Luke's favorites!  The manatees and the turtles.

Luke and L on the train.  Luke did tell us that Papaw likes the train too.  :)  Luke is all of a sudden a VERY big fan of waving.

Lunch on the go.

Next stop for L's bday weekend was the beach!  What a gorgeous evening (ya know...once it got below 100 degrees!).

Gorgeous

Luke got to stay up late enough to see the sunset and asked "where's it going Mommy?"  Yikes...I wasn't quite sure how in depth to get.  Do I start talking about rotation versus revolution?  The 23.5 degree axis tilt? Nah...instead I said..."The sun is going to sleep and the moon is ready to wake up."  He is only 2 years old, after all.

The beach mascots.  (Sidenote..the ice cream stains totally came out of his outfit...I am a magician in the laundry department.)

Ready to start a long day of catching shells and "tiny fish!"

My loves!

Whatever floats your boat :)
We had a lovely weekend as a family to celebrate L and how much we appreciate and love who he is and what he does for us!!

Now for the zoo....round 2!

Some mommy friends and I took the kiddos to the zoo.  Here is Luke and his favorite ladyfriend C!  Too cute.

G, Luke, and C (and my finger) checking out the elephants.

Listen, EVERY park/zoo/attraction has some sort of water feature for the kiddos.  We permantly have swim diapers and sunscreen with us.

Luke was really into the birds but I promptly told him that I am not really a "bird person".  He said "what does that mean Mommy?"  I'm not quite sure myself.

C, Luke, and the mighty Komodo Dragon

Lastly, a cupcake decorating party some of our favorite kids!  C (boy C) will be turning 4 this week and Team Tully can't make it to his party :( so we decided to do our own.  The kids decorated cupcakes however they wanted and it was a big hit!  Icing everywhere and lips smacking galore.

We are on our way to a VERY busy October.  We can't wait to spend time with Ima and Sheshy and L will be traveling here, there, and everywhere...including British Columbia.  Busy Busy Busy...but we wouldn't have it any other way!
