Updates

1. Luke is walking more than he is crawling...I would give it a 70 to 30 ratio. He is still in the drunken walk stage though and has two bruises on his head to prove it. The problem is speed - he thinks he can handle it and said bruises prove otherwise. He is loving the independence though and so am I!

2. At his 1 year well visit with the doctor he has tripled his birthweight (he is now 27 pounds) and he grew more than 10 inches (he is now over 31 inches tall). He is big and beautiful and healthy!

3. I think Luke might be good at sharing. I say this because he offers EVERYTHING to the dog. And by everything I mean EVERYTHING. From toy trains to stuffed otters to sippy cups and of course food...everything! Riggs is thrilled by the food offerings and Luke giggles when Riggs snatches his snack away and then looks around in bewilderment as to where the piece of cheese went. The sharing of other items is not as welcomed. Luke shoves his trains (which are wooden and solid) and other plastic toys into Riggs' face and sometimes even throws them...this of course is frowned upon by everyone but Luke. Riggs is not the brightest bulb so he pretty much just sits there and takes it until I coax him to move. Sharing = good. Sharing with the dog = bad.

4. Luke has not mastered the word HOT. He can say it very well and he seems to love the way it sounds because he says it all the time!! I taught him the word a while ago when I gave him some zucchini that was a little too warm. I blew on the pieces and said "hot, hot" before I gave them to him. He then proceeded to call everything on his plate "hot." When he is walking around outside he does indeed use it correctly when he steps on the cement and says hot. However, just today he was standing on the AC vent shouting "hot hot hot." And when I brought the mail inside he said it again?? Now I have switched to pointing out things that are cold.

5. Looking for things seems to be on the top of the fun list lately. Luke loves to get down and peer under the chairs, couches, tables, whatever. So cute! In fact, he purposely shoves things under the couches to then go and look for them. In the last week the newest hiding spot is .....you guessed it....Riggs! I am not kidding...Luke shoves items under the dog's belly while he is laying down and then tries to peer underneath him. We love love love Riggs but again, why won't that silly dog move? This can't possibly be fun for him. As mentioned above I have to try and coax Riggs to get up because he does have his limit to Luke's pestering and I don't want to see the outcome of that.

6. The move is looming...a week from yesterday. We are not nearly as ready as we have been in the past for a big move like this but we have a 1 year old so I am not beating myself up about it. We may be packing boxes even when the movers are here but it will all get done.

I think that is about it for now! My next post will probably be from Florida so stay tuned - Team Tully is on to our next adventure!!
