I have never been truly stylish (quite an obvious statement for my longtime friends). I have never been under the illusion that I was stylish. I know what style is and if I had the time and more importantly, money, I think I could be quite stylish. Prior to baby Luke I would save sweatpants for the weekends and throughout the week would wear pants that require buttons, zippers, and the ocassional belt. I love skirts and would wear them often. My shirts required buttons at times and others required a little bit of fuss here and there. Heels are in my closet...I never wore them constantly but ocassionally I do love a heel. Not stylish but not a total disaster either.
That being said....I have never been farther from stylish than I am now.
Listen, I tried (not hard but I did try) to keep up my somewhat stylish look after Luke and when he was tiny it was a little easier. He didn't do a whole lot therefore neither did I, I could wear pretty much anything as long as it didn't need to be dry cleaned. My bottom half usually looked better than my top half due to the ever present spit-up. But now....I just don't see the point of getting dressed for a day at the country club if I am going to be spending at least 6 hours of my day on the floor. Therefore I have a new-found love (who am I kidding...I have always loved) for sweatpants and I smile when I open my third dresser drawer to find them staring at me. I moved my "regular" pants down a drawer...that is how seriously my wardrobe has changed. I do try to change from sweatpants to regular pants to leave the house (not gonna lie, the folks at the grocery store and Target have seen their fair shair of sweatpants) because I am slightly afraid that Stacy and Clinton might show up but my life is full of tummy time, cloth blocks, and rolling over. I wouldn't trade it for the world but it is not currently a life fit for khakis. Therefore, if anyone knows of a fantastic sweatpant brand let me know...my wardrobe, "my kid is 5 months old" wardrobe, needs a little variety!!
