Here are some simple things I love about being a mom:
1. My alarm clock - most days when Luke gets up he kind of squirms and chatters and whines a little. When I go into the nursery to get him out of the crib...there he is..smiling up at me. Precious and a great way to start the day!
2. When Luke "talks" - he is such a vocal kid and he can chatter for 20 minutes straight. There are differences in tone, volume, and sounds. I really think he his telling a story that makes perfect sense to him.
3. Father-Son Saturday mornings! L and Luke have breakfast together, play, and then head out for some sort of trip...usually to the recycling center.
4. The changing table - he seems pretty happy getting his diaper changed (unbelievable, I know) and we often spend some quality time with stuffed animals....he likes the voice I give to his monkey best of all.
5. His laugh..it is not boisterous or shrill. It is pretty subdued actually but there is a lot of build up...priceless! He is ticklish for sure.
6. How the dog has become the cheapest, and sometimes most effective, entertainment for Luke. Now if only Riggs felt the same way.
7. I love that I get to keep him.
Sidenote: we are counting the days until our favorite DC lovin', Spanish speaking, Pictionary experts come to visit!!
